We are on the lookout for a reliable and physically fitcasual team member to join our team at the Timaru Port.

If your hands on, safety focused and enjoy working outsidethis could be the job for you.

About this Role :

As a Stevedore (Wharf Hand) you'll be part of a teamresponsible for the safe loading and unloading of cargo from ships on theTimaru Container Terminal.

This could include :

Lashing and Unlashing containers.

Handling cargo using strops and chains.

Removing and inserting twist locks intocontainers.

Nightshift (usually 7pm-7am) and Dayshift available

Requirements for the Role

A reasonable level of fitness – most days willbe spent on your feet

Willingness to work in all weather conditions

Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.

Full car license preferred but not essential

A high level of Health and Safety Awareness.

Previous experience not necessary
