We are excited to offer two permanent, full-time teaching positions at Te Au Rere a te Tonga Youth Residence in Palmerston North to start 28 January
The ideal candidate will :
Have experience in Trauma Informed and Culturally Responsive Practice, responding to students' culture, language, and identity, and providing a safe, inclusive, and mana-enhancing environment.
Be a strong classroom kaiako with a current registration with a deep understanding of the NZ Curriculum or Te Marautanga o Aotearoa across levels 1-8.
A Limited Authority to teach may be applied for, if there has been no formal teacher training or qualification for the right applicant.
Proficiency in digital technologies for planning, communication, and administrative tasks.
Strong skills in literacy, numeracy, and experience in supporting complex learners are essential.
Highly desirable :
Proficiency in Te Reo Maori / Te Ao Maori.

About the role :
You will help design, implement, and review individualized learning programmes that support akonga's transition to community, education and employment.
Collaboration with the wider team is essential.
You'll also support transition planning with other educators, specialists, and partner agencies.
You'll be part of a supportive and dynamic team that values tika, pono and aroha alongside manaakitanga and whanaungatanga.
