Job description

Robotics Plus (RP) is an ambitious organisation within the broader Yamaha Agriculture Inc. Group. Our business is growing rapidly in the development of smart robotics, automation, mechanisation, and sensor technology that maximise productivity in food and fibre manufacturing industries around the world. Our people are passionate about innovation and work together to push boundaries, making a difference for future generations.

Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Lead to join our team. This is a senior technical contributor role, essential for delivering quality end-to-end procurement solutions that accelerate RP’s manufacturing scale‑up and R&D operations. You will be the primary procurement business partner to our Engineering, Manufacturing, Product, and Commercial teams, translating technical requirements and product roadmaps into actionable sourcing strategies.

Your focus will be on executing category strategies, optimising Source-to-Contract (S2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and managing Supplier Relationships (SRM) across direct and indirect spend. You will play a key role in driving availability, maintaining quality with cost efficiency (COGS / OPEX), and risk mitigation across strategic supply categories (e.g., electro‑mechanical components, custom assemblies, precision parts), while enabling accelerated NPI and scale‑up of commercial production.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years’ experience in strategic procurement, category management, or sourcing engineering within either a high mix‑low volume manufacturing or high‑tech environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electronic component sourcing, custom assemblies, and engineered parts.
  • Proven experience in cost of goods / Bill of Materials modelling, supplier negotiation, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle), MRP planning, and digital procurement tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to influence cross‑functional decision‑making.
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Ability to analyse data and write reports.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in MS Office products.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills and a customer service focus.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement, or Business; CIPS certification advantageous.
  • Previous people leadership experience, management of remote (project) teams an advantage.
