As a Senior Data Engineer at ASB, you'll be at the forefront of designing and delivering data-driven solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers and the bank. You'll work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop solutions that drive business outcomes. Your expertise will help shape our data engineering practices and contribute to the growth of a strong data engineering community within ASB.

You’ll be responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of our data pipelines and engineering processes, while also nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and contributing to the development of best practices in data engineering. Your work will make a tangible impact on our customers and the bank, and you'll be supported by a team that's passionate about data and innovation.

As a seasoned data engineer, here's what you bring to the table :

• Significant experience in database design, data curation, and data wrangling ability from a variety of structured or unstructured sources - you're a data wrangling expert who can tame complex data sets with ease.
• 5 years experience in data integration design and development, CI / CD, and / or data warehousing processes - you've got the skills and experience to design and deliver complex data solutions that drive results.
• Strong skill with SQL and Python including optimisation and productionisation of code - you're a coding expert who can write efficient, effective, and scalable code.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to manage relationships, educate, influence and support individuals across multiple experience levels in both technical and non-technical language - you're a people person who can communicate complex ideas simply and effectively.
• Strong understanding of data structures, file manipulation, data architecture, and software design principles - you're a data expert who knows the ins and outs of data engineering and can apply that knowledge to drive innovation.
• Significant experience in large scale, complex data warehouse or Big Data environments, and data systems management - you've worked with big data and know how to handle it with confidence.
• Proven experience in considering the security, governance, risk and commercial implications of relevant solutions - you're a thoughtful and responsible data engineer who thinks about the bigger picture and can balance technical expertise with business acumen.
