We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic photography teacher to join our team for the 2026 academic year. This fixed-term, full-time position is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on our students' educational journey. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons to students across various year levels, supporting them in developing critical thinking skills, cultural understanding, and a love for learning.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality photography and art lessons in line with the New Zealand Curriculum.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and respect.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback to support their academic growth.
- Collaborate with the art department to develop curriculum materials and share best practices.
- Participate in co-curricular activities and school events that promotes art and learning.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Registered or eligible for registration with the New Zealand Teaching Council.
- Qualified teacher with a degree in photography, art or a related field.
- Experience teaching at secondary school level is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues.
