Rarangi Utu a-Matauranga - Education Payroll is a Crown entity that delivers pay to schools and kura on behalf of the Ministry of Education.
With around 200 employees, we deliver one of the largest and most complex payrolls in Australasia.
The combination of great people and cutting-edge technology enable us to pay around 102,000 teachers and support staff across around 2,500 schools accurately and on time every fortnight.
That's approximately $294 million a fortnight and $7.7 billion per annum.
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for analysing and documenting business requirements and impact assessments.
This role is highly collaborative and will engage with subject matter experts and the wider business.
They will also ensure the requirements are understood and documented concisely with the delivery teams.
They will have a deep awareness of how our business operations work and help stakeholders explore possible solutions to effectively execute their roles.
A regular day for a Senior BA includes attending agile ceremonies, engaging with stakeholders, and supporting the team to deliver on time.
Education Payroll is primarily an office-based workplace but also offer flexible working arrangements.
Our office is in central Wellington and is easily accessible for those who commute.
If successful, you'll be appointed between $92,000 and $125,000 per annum depending on experience and capability.
Key Accountabilities
working on multiple inter-related initiatives for developing and maintaining our core products
preparing requirements, impact assessments, and user stories that fits business needs
analysing data utilising SQL and other analysis tools
working closely with operational and development teams to ensure requirements are understood and clear
documentation of business processes and user guides
developing and maintaining a strong understanding of the business areas assigned to them
Requirements
curious, ask good questions and have attention to detail
adaptable, flexible and able to manage working on multiple initiatives
an excellent relationship builder / maintainer with strong communication and engagement skills
able to analyse complex issues / situations and stakeholder requirements to develop effective options
Preferred Experience & Skills
must have 5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst or have worked on a similar role
must have 2+ years' experience working in an agile environment
previous experience in planning, implementation, of business requirements
previous experience in development of current and future state processes
previous experience of analysing complex issues and developing effective solutions for implementation
an understanding of business processes and process modelling using BPMN 2.0 is desirable
previous experience in mentoring and coordinating is desirable
