Whiting Contractors is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator / Truck Driver to join our small team in the Nelson, Tasman Area. You would be joining a well established business that has been around for over 35 years.

Job Overview

This is a full-time position that will play a vital role in supporting a variety of construction projects including general excavation and filling, subdivision work which includes earthworks, drainage, services and roading, demolition, construction of retaining walls and more. Duane has been in the earthmoving and construction industry for over 40 years. We can also offer the opportunity for someone to learn and grow as an operator.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operating excavators and other heavy machinery on construction sites
• Driving trucks to transport materials, equipment and waste to and from job sites
• Assisting with the loading and unloading of trucks
• Performing daily safety checks and maintenance on equipment
• Collaborating with the construction crew to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely
• Adhering to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
