Clinical Placement and Operations CoordinatorPermanent, Full TimeEnjoy a dynamic role with diverse responsibilities across operations, finance, and academic support.Be a key connector between students, staff, and clinical placement providersChampion equity and Maori success through culturally responsive practices.Coordinate clinical placements and operations to support student success and equity in health education at AraThe Clinical Placement and Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the Faculty of Health, Science and Sustainability by coordinating clinical placements and operational processes across the health and community portfolio, including nursing, midwifery, and medical imaging programmes.

This role ensures seamless student experiences through effective engagement, administration, and communication with internal teams and external health providers.

It also contributes to equity-focused initiatives, particularly for Maori and underserved communities, and supports the implementation of systems that enhance placement tracking and data management.

The coordinator works collaboratively across the faculty to uphold Ara's values and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.A level 5 relevant qualification is preferredRecent and relevant knowledge of the health system and tertiary educationProven administration and co-ordination experienceExperience with development of systems and processesWorking knowledge of kaupapa and matauranga Maori and its application in a tertiary contextExperience in providing pastoral careDemonstrate practice in successfully engaging with communities from diverse backgrounds and identities, in particular Maori, Pasifika, Youth, International and people with disabilities.Experience of preparing contracts and invoicesExperience in a tertiary settingExperience in practice placement coordinationProven experience building relationships within primary, mental health and medical surgical areasA high level of computer literacy- Microsoft Office Suite, DBMS, adaptability to implementation of new systemsAra Institute of Canterbury a business division of Te Pukenga (Ara), is a vibrant and progressive tertiary institute providing world-class, tertiary-level education throughout the Canterbury and Waitaki region.
