Overview
Hiringa Oranga O Awarua Limited - Awarua Whanau Services is seeking a dedicated Tamariki Ora Registered Nurse to join our kaupapa Maori health team.
This role is central to delivering Well Child services that support tamariki and their whanau to thrive through culturally responsive, whanau-centered care.
Responsibilities
Deliver health and development assessments for tamariki under 5 years.
Support whanau to identify needs and access services that enhance wellbeing.
Promote health literacy and empower whanau with knowledge and skills.
Work within an integrated model of care that values collaboration across health and social services.
Uphold professional nursing standards and contribute to continuous improvement.
Foster positive relationships with whanau, colleagues, and community partners.
Is a Registered General and Obstetric Nurse or Registered Comprehensive Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
Holds or is willing to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Primary Health Care Specialty Nursing.
Has a certificate or higher in Te Reo Maori me ona Tikanga (or is working towards it).
Is an Independent Vaccinator (or working towards it).
Has experience working with whanau and in Maori community settings.
Demonstrates strong clinical assessment, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Understands population health, child development, and kaupapa Maori health models.
