About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team. You will be providing safe, competent, individual nursing care with a medical, surgical and rehabilitation focus for patients to maximise their health and rehabilitation potential.

This is a permanent part time position working 64 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE), rostered and rotating shifts.

About the Team / Service

The Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation team is based on a 15‑bed ward at Wairarapa Hospital. Inpatients on the ward have a combination of medical, surgical and rehabilitation needs, and the multidisciplinary team provides individualised management and care plans to support patients to achieve their functional potential and allow them to return to living in the community. The team works closely with patients and their whānau / support network to achieve this, together with being responsive to the wider needs of Health NZ Wairarapa to deliver effective and efficient healthcare and achieve Health Targets.

About you

• You will be an experienced Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate from New Zealand Nursing Council.
• You will have sound clinical skills in nursing, especially within a medical, surgical and / or rehabilitation setting, or working with elderly patients in a clinical setting.
• Strong communication skills and be comfortable communicating clearly with a wide variety of people.
• Enthusiasm to further develop your clinical skills with a medical, surgical and rehabilitation focus.
