Shirl's Takeaways is currently seeking reliable and full-time Cooks to join our team.

The starting pay offered is $25-$30 hourly and will be fixed according to the skills and experience for at least 30 to 50 hours a week.

However, this will be reviewed periodically.

Any overtime will be paid as per the above pay rate.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of related tasks, including :

Cooking and Preparation : - Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, with a focus on both grill items and Asian-inspired offerings.

• Ensure all dishes are prepared to high standards and follow established recipes and guidelines.

Menu Development and Innovation : - Contribute ideas for new dishes, ingredients, and cooking techniques to enhance the menu.

Training and Mentoring : - Learn and master cooking techniques and presentation under the guidance of senior chefs.

Quality Control : - Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure every dish meets customer expectations.

Customer Service : - Address customer inquiries and special requests with professionalism, including dietary preferences and special orders.Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver anexceptional dining experience.

Food Safety and Sanitation : Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment by upholding food safety and sanitationstandards.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Job pre-requisites :

Must be available to work on a roster seven days a week.

Flexibility to work holidays as needed.

At least one year of relevant experience in the commercial kitchen is a must.

Proved knowledge of cooking Asian cuisine, such as relevant work experience, on-the- job training, or occupational credentials.

Must possess a keen eye for detail and a hard-working attitude.

Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Must be able to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time.

Must maintain personal cleanliness to ensure high standards of hygiene.

The successful candidate must pass a police check and drug test.
