The Opportunity | Site Operations Manager – Facilities Maintenance

Reporting to the Counties Manukau District Facilities Manager, the Site Operations Manager will manage and implement planned preventative maintenance plans alongside staff, sub‑contractors and stakeholders. The role ensures that Counties Manukau District site facilities assets are maintained, operated, and reviewed in accordance with the Asset Management Plans and Operational standards. You will oversee the operation of the Facilities function specific to a site, ensuring efficient, high‑quality, customer‑focused services are provided in a safe manner and that clear, consistent leadership is provided to suppliers and service providers to meet the site’s requirements. Travel between hospital sites across the Counties Manukau District is expected and a current driver’s licence is essential.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years’ practical, post‑trade experience in a multi‑trade environment, ideally in a campus, portfolio type or critical service environment where all‑round engineering and building maintenance knowledge is essential; at least 5 years’ experience proactively managing staff / contractors.
  • Thorough understanding of current New Zealand building codes and compliance requirements.
  • Accomplished at delivering work programmes against specified time constraints and budget requirements.
  • In‑depth knowledge of contemporary facilities maintenance management methods, techniques, and standards, along with detailed knowledge of most trades and services (including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry and fire services).
