We are seeking a full-time, permanent Driving Instructor based primarily in Hawera, with flexibility to work in New Plymouth and other areas of Taranaki as required.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, community-focused business that is expanding its range of driver training services.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality driving lessons for Class 1 vehicles (automatic and manual).
Support students in preparing for learner, restricted, and full licence tests.
Guide clients through the driver licensing process and promote safe, responsible driving habits.
Maintain accurate lesson notes and student progress records.
Represent Learn to Drive in a professional and community-focused manner.
You Must Have
A high standard of driving skill and safety awareness (manual and automatic).
Full Class 1 New Zealand driver licence (held for at least 2 years).
Ability to meet NZTA medical and fit & proper person requirements.
Strong communication and time-management skills.
Self-motivation, integrity, and patience.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people from all backgrounds.
The Ideal Applicant Will Have
Experience in driver education, transport, teaching, or adult training.
Leadership skills and a calm, professional teaching style.
An understanding of Tikanga Maori and respect for cultural diversity.
A willingness to learn, grow, and support others.

Company vehicle and phone for work use.
Starting salary of $70,000 – $75,000 once qualified.
Monday–Friday work week, with optional weekend work available by arrangement.
