Court Registry Officer | Wellington Tribunals

Te Haeata / The Opportunity

Join our passionate team dedicated to supporting the Tenancy Tribunal and making a real difference for communities across New Zealand.

We're looking for an enthusiastic, talented individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys meaningful work.

This is a permanent, Wellington-based position offering the opportunity to contribute to a high-impact service.

Responsibilities

Ensure judicial officers and case parties have all the information they need, in a timely and accurate manner.

Interact with participants on any case-related matter.

Handle customer queries via phone or electronically – demonstrating confident communication and comfort with electronic systems.

Plan and schedule case events, including logistics to ensure cases are heard without delay.

Skills and Experience

Detail-oriented and observant – maintain accurate processes and case information.

Organised – manage hearings and events with set dates and times, working within time constraints.

Self-aware – confident working individually and as a team across a range of situations.

Able to prioritise – manage conflicting priorities and move from one task to another quickly.

Willing to learn – adapt to changing legislation and processes.

Resilient – handle sensitive cases and high volume.

Committed to the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi and understand them in a Ministry context.

Salary

The remuneration band for this role is $59,729 to $80,794 – while the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience, we are willing to pay higher in the band to attract strong candidates into this role.
