Job description

seQure is a fast growing cybersecurity company on a mission to make cybersecurity simple, accessible, and powerful for small to mid‑sized businesses across ANZ. We provide a full suite of managed protection, assessments, and cyber advisory services, including AI protection, all delivered with enterprise grade quality and small business care.

About the role

We are entering an exciting phase of growth and are looking for an experienced, self‑driven Business Development Manager who thrives in a performance‑based environment. You will help us expand our presence in the local market, and welcome initiative to explore valuable verticals.

This is a commission‑only role, ideal for someone confident in their ability to build relationships, close deals, and shape go‑to‑market success in a founder‑led business. If you are entrepreneurial, solutions focused, and want to help protect people and businesses from cyber threats, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

As a business development manager at seQure, you will be responsible for :

  • Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities.
  • Build and nurture relationships with business owners, directors, and decision‑makers.
  • Create tailored proposals and clearly articulate the value of seQure’s services.
  • Engage in consistent prospecting efforts through networking, events, outreach, and referrals.
  • Track and report progress through CRM or agreed tracking tools.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of cybersecurity trends and local risk factors.
  • Collaborate with the founder on evolving the sales strategy, including offers, packages, and messaging.

About you

  • 3+ years of business development experience, ideally in B2B services or technology.
  • Strong communication, listening, and relationship building skills.
  • A self‑starter with the ability to work independently and close deals without needing day‑to‑day oversight.
  • Familiarity with consultative or solution‑based selling methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when translating technical value into business outcomes.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a sales pipeline effectively.
  • Experience selling to small businesses.
  • Preferred skills

  • Exposure to cybersecurity, IT services, SaaS, or professional services sales.
  • Existing networks within the NZ SMB space or trusted industries.
  • Understanding of basic cyber threats, risks, and the value of proactive protection.
  • Experience selling intangible services or advisory based offerings.
  • Compensation

This is a commission‑only role, compensated as a generous percentage of the Monthly Contract Value (MCV) for each signed client. Commission structures are transparent and rewards scale with performance.

For the right candidate, opportunities exist to build recurring revenue streams and take on broader business responsibilities over time.
