Overview

Lead Software Engineer - Mobile role at CartonCloud. Remote position based in Australia or New Zealand.

Department : Technology - Research & Development. Location : Remote New Zealand.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the Flutter app and its integration with existing native iOS and Android apps.
  • Support native app development while providing ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and support for existing systems and platforms.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for mobile development.
  • Mentor and coach mobile developers, lifting technical skills and team capability.
  • Work closely with Product and business stakeholders to design and implement solutions that align with our strategic goals.
  • Oversee triage and BAU processes, ensuring mobile issues are efficiently managed and resolved.

To be successful, we are looking for (Qualifications)

  • 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in mobile development
  • Deep expertise in Flutter, with strong knowledge of native iOS (preferred) or Android development
  • Hands on experience with REST APIs and integrating backend services
  • Proficiency with state management solutions such as Riverpod
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges, architect resilient solutions, and drive technical excellence
  • Proven expertise in core mobile application design and development frameworks
  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science will be highly regarded
