Project Accountant : Systems & Budgeting (6-Month)

Why This Role Exists

We’re seeking a capable Project Accountant to join our Finance Team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role will support the CFO and Internal Auditor as we deliver several key projects and complete important improvement work. You’ll play a vital part in keeping our financial operations running smoothly while providing accurate, timely, and high-quality information that supports informed decision making to the Board, Executive, and wider leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the redevelopment of our financial systems, including an organisation-wide Purchase Order system and automation tools.
• Assist with implementing a new Capital Asset Management Plan linked to updated Fixed Asset Register software.
• Help set up a Fixed Asset Register and new payroll system in Xero.
• Support the implementation of a new Grant Management System.
• Contribute to monthly financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and budgeting.
• Assist in preparing annual accounts and managing the annual audit process.
• Help manage the Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement each month.
• Ensure monthly financial reporting is supported by accurate, complete workpapers.
• Meet all statutory obligations, including GST, FBT, Gaming Duties, and Taxation.
• Participate in continuous improvement of systems, processes, and financial workflows.
• Analyse financial information flows across establishments to identify efficiencies.
• Promote and uphold ILT’s commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing.
