As a

Chef de Partie at Air NZ Lounge in Christchurch Airport

, you'll play a key role in the culinary operations of the Air New Zealand Lounge at Christchurch Airport.

You'll assist the Executive Chef in managing kitchen production, logistics, and quality control, ensuring every dish reflects the high standards of Compass Group and Air New Zealand.

This is a

Permanent Full Time

position rostered across the 7 days of the week.

Therefore, you

MUST

be available to work during weekends.

Responsibilities

Operate and organise a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring consistency and quality in food production.

Support menu development and portion specifications in collaboration with the Executive Chef.

Monitor food safety, hygiene, and compliance with cleaning schedules and temperature controls.

Train and mentor kitchen staff to maintain productivity, quality, and safety standards.

Collaborate across functions to optimise performance, reduce waste, and support new business strategies.

Qualifications

Hold a NZQA Level 4 Cookery Certificate or equivalent trade qualification.

Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role, with proven leadership and mentoring skills.

Strong communication skills and a flexible, positive attitude under pressure.

Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and OH&S practices, with relevant certifications (e.g. Units 167 & 168).

Commercially aware, with an understanding of operating within budgetary constraints and performance metrics.
