JO&JOE is a brand created in 2017. Our ‘open houses’ combine the comfort of a hotel with the friendliness of a youth hostel. Caring, colourful, open living spaces. Ideally located in international cities, our hostels offer an experience for travellers AND locals (rooftops, restaurants, bars, events, designer rooms at affordable prices). Role

JO&JOE Auckland is looking for its next Barista! Come and write a page in the history of JO&JOE by being part of the Auckland opening team. The Barista will be responsible for delivering exceptional coffee and guest experiences in our vibrant open house environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and other beverages with consistency, speed, and a smile.
  • Provide a warm, personalised welcome to every guest, creating a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Take orders, handle payments, and ensure accuracy in all transactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station, equipment, and service areas.
  • Monitor stock levels of coffee, milk, and supplies, and communicate needs to the F&B Supervisor.
  • Assist with running food to guests and support the wider F&B team during busy periods.
  • Follow all hygiene, safety, and food handling procedures, ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Qualifications

  • A passion for coffee and customer service.
  • Experience as a barista or in a similar hospitality role.
  • A positive attitude and strong communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and pride in your work.
  • A willingness to learn and grow with the team.

    • Preferred / Additional Information

  • Field of study : Hospitality or similar (preferred but not essential).
  • Professional experience : 1 year minimum as a barista or in a café environment.
  • Language required : English
