Dispatcher – Rural sector

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Dispatcher to join our team in Auroa, South Taranaki. This is a hands‑on role so previous experience in rural transport is desirable. The successful applicant will be responsible for the scheduling and dispatch of our Groundspread Fertiliser trucks. Along with ensuring the most efficient use of resources by managing driver’s workload and allocating daily jobs, the dispatcher will also manage relationships with key customers and will be responsible for other general dispatching and office duties.

This is a full‑time, permanent position working Monday – Friday, with some Saturday work during our seasonal periods. Flexibility is required to suit our seasonal business needs.

Skills and experience

• Have previous experience in a Dispatch and / or Scheduling role, with a multi‑site focus.
• Understand fertiliser products and / or fertiliser application.
• Have ability in Stocktaking and accountability for product and loss.
• Be reliable with a good work ethic and be a team player.
• Be Health and Safety focused – with the ability to role‑model safe working practices.
• Have geographical knowledge of South Taranaki.
• Be an effective communicator (with both internal and external stakeholders e.g., customers, drivers).
• Be computer literate, manage technology, and efficiently enter data.
• Proficient with a strong attention for detail.
• Be able to think on their feet, suggest solutions to challenges, and effectively distribute company‑wide and divisional messages.
• Have enthusiasm, great communications skills and the ability to pick things up quickly.
