Excavator Operator

EQUIPMENT OPERATION and MAINTENANCE :

• Operate excavators to dig trenches, foundations, and other earthworks, or to level terrain.
• Use manual and hydraulic controls to regulate pressure, speed, and flow.
• Perform pre-start checks, daily inspections, and routine maintenance, including lubrication and refueling.
• Select, fit, and remove attachments such as buckets, blades, and rock hammers as needed for the job.
• Load materials onto dump trucks and transfer materials as required.
• Make minor repairs and report any malfunctions or defects.

PROJECT SUPPORT :

• Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Clear construction sites of debris and obstructions.
• Participate in staff meetings and safety training.
• Complete work reports and provide feedback for performance improvement.
• Assist with other construction tasks as needed.

SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE

• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures on the job site.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and communicate with other workers and project managers.
• Work with GPS and laser systems for precise excavation.
• Ensure the work area is safe and free of hazards.
• Report accidents and near-misses as required.
