Adult Mental Health and Addiction Services are seeking psychiatrists interested in working within a rural health setting.
The ongoing development of rural specialties and efforts to enhance integrated services across the Coast provide opportunities for you to help design sustainable future services.
There is also an opportunity to join the Rural Special Interest group of the RANZCP.
The WCDHB mental health service is small but agile.
You will join a team of several psychiatrists (5 FTE) working collegially with a stable and experienced workforce to serve a population of approximately 32,000 people.
We have systems in place to support professional development and collegial relationships, and we are open to new ideas.
Rural services require flexibility due to the diverse work involved.
The role is primarily for a generalist and may include responsibilities in general adult psychiatry (community and inpatient), addictions, older persons, and child and adolescent psychiatry.
The specific responsibilities will be tailored to your experience, interests, and the service needs.
