Game Designer II
Deep Field Games is looking for an experienced Game Designer II to join our New Zealand-based team.
Responsibilities
- Help create, oversee and balance game features and mechanics in current and future projects.
- Work closely with the Design Director and code team to develop new features and improve existing ones.
- Monitor community feedback and filter suggestions from the community for potential implementation into the game.
Qualifications
Intermediate proficiency with Unreal Engine interface and data structures.Experience designing game features on at least one commercially-released game project.Moderate understanding of design principles, game mechanics, player psychology, and basic design theory.Experience with production software (Jira, Trello, etc.).Ability to meet deadlines and work within established pipelines and project scope.Strong work ethic and collaborative attitude.Capable of working independently with some oversight.Excellent communication skills, especially when writing design documentation intended for programmers or other team members of other disciplines.Preferred Experience
Familiarity with Blueprint design and / or scripting languages for prototyping and implementing game mechanics, including UE5 Behavior Trees.Experience with design for first-person shooters and survival crafting games.Benefits
