Financial Accountant

About the role

Reporting to the Accounting Manager you will be responsible for : Preparation and posting of month end journals (Leave / Salary accruals, insurance, FBT etc)

Preparation of monthly GL reconciliations

Monthly lease accounting journals and lease reconciliations

Preparation of Income Tax, GST and FBT returns

Preparation of the year-end financial statements

Assisting with year-end audit requirements

Assist with accounting and tax technical matters

Other process improvement projects

About you

Ideally you will have at least 3+ years' relevant experiences and will have :

Chartered Accountant qualification or equivalent

Experience with utilities or similar complex organisation

Knowledge of NZ IFRS

Big 4 qualified preferred

Knowledge of NZ taxation including GST, FBT, Income tax and Taxlab software

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel

Good verbal and written communication skills would be essential along with the ability to multi-task and deliver to deadlines.

Attention to detail is a must along with a continuous improvements mindset.

Experience with JDE or other equivalent ERP system will be an advantage.
