Foresty Worker

We are looking for multiple experienced Forestry Workers to join our team.

This is a permanent full-time role, with guaranteed 30 hours per week.

The role is based in Northland, but you may be required to travel or relocate for work in Gisborne and Bay of Plenty regions.

The role may also require regular travels to forestry regions across NZ.The role is to support the establishment, regeneration and tending of plantation forests, from ground preparation and planting through release spraying, pruning, and pre-commercial thinning, delivering safe, quality work to specification and within production targets.

Your day-to-day tasks include but not limited to site preparation and access, planting, release spraying / weed&pest control, pruning and form tending, pre-commercial thinning & line thinning, etc.

The work is predominantly in remote forestry blocks.

You are required to travel for extended periods (2-8 weeks at a time) and stay near worksites until the job is completed.

We provide transport from base to worksites.

Shared accommodations (or an allowance) near the forest will be organised by us.

For the right candidates, you need to demonstrate :

Proven outdoor labouring experience or strong motivaiton to learn silviculture.

Physically fit and willing to undertake early shift, able to walk long distances on steep / uneven terrain and carry 20-25kg

Willing to travel for work

Reliability & teamwork

NZ class 1 drivers licence preferred, or willing to obtain

Pass pre-employment and random drug & alcohol testing, satisfactory reference checks and right to work in New Zealand.
