Te Ora Hou Ōtautahi is a kaupapa Māori, faith-based youth and community development organisation committed to strengthening whānau and hapori across Ōtautahi. Our rōpū is diverse, passionate, and whānau-friendly, made up of kaimahi who are dedicated to walking alongside whānau in ways that uphold mana, whakapapa, and self-determination, and to outwork Te Mauri and TOHATOHA collectively and individually. We are seeking three Kaitūwhana to join our team. These roles work directly with whānau to identify their aspirations, navigate challenges, and access the support and opportunities that help them thrive. You will build strong relationships, support whānau-led planning, and work closely with community partners to strengthen wellbeing across multiple areas of life.
The Kaitūwhana works in partnership with whānau who meet service criteria. You will support whānau to identify their strengths, needs, and goals, and help them access the services, resources, and relationships that support their wellbeing. You will walk alongside whānau through complex situations, advocate with agencies when needed, and help create clear plans for their current and future aspirations. This mahi is grounded in kaupapa Māori practice. It requires the ability to build trusting relationships, honour tikanga, uplift mana, and support whānau to move at a pace that works for them. You will also play a key role in risk assessment, crisis response, ongoing planning, and celebrating whānau progress. Ongoing supervision, professional development, and training will be provided.
