Senior Structural Engineer

Location :  South / East Auckland

Full-time | Permanent

Are you a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with a passion for designing innovative infrastructure solutions? We’re seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead the design and certification of precast concrete systems for civil infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead structural design and detailing of precast bridges, underpasses, box culverts, headwalls, pipe systems, manholes, retaining structures, chambers, and lids.
  • Prepare and sign Producer Statements (PS1), ensuring all designs meet NZS, AS / NZS, and international standards.
  • Review technical and shop drawings for accuracy and clarity, and support drafters with design guidance.
  • Develop design tools and templates to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams to develop new precast products and improve existing ones.
  • Provide expert technical advice to internal teams, consulting engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support product innovation, specification development, and market positioning.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including the adoption of new technologies and software.
  • Represent the organisation in technical forums, industry groups, and client meetings.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Washington Accord-accredited preferred).
  • CPEng registration and membership with Engineering New Zealand.
  • 5+ years’ experience in precast concrete and structural design.
  • Strong technical expertise in reinforced concrete and design software (e.g., Autodesk Robot).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
