New Zealand Story’s purpose is to protect, promote and enhance Brand New Zealand to expand our country's reputation and value internationally. We create quality resources to give exporters and government agencies the skills and knowledge to communicate compelling stories about New Zealand. We do this to shift perceptions, open doors, and grow opportunities for our country.

NZ Story reaches global audiences through our growing digital channels, sharing inspiring stories of New Zealand, and we are looking for a Content Production Specialist to support our team.

What you’ll be doing

As our Content Production Specialist, you’ll play a key role in managing and producing compelling content that amplifies New Zealand’s story globally.

You’ll manage the end-to-end production of engaging content, from developing briefs and planning campaigns to designing presentations, digital assets, creating videos and infographics. Working closely with the Content Production Lead, you’ll help shape the content roadmap, identify asset gaps, and collaborate with agencies to co-create impactful materials.

You’ll maintain NZ Story’s websites and content systems, ensuring everything is up-to-date and tagged correctly. Your graphic design and video editing expertise will support a range of initiatives across NZ Story, including events and special projects, while building strong relationships within the team and with external partners.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • At least 3 years’ relevant experience in graphic design, video editing, and content creation.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Cloud suite).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (PC platform required).
  • Video editing skills (can be developed further on the job).
  • Strong relationship‑building skills and ability to partner on key projects.
  • Highly organised and a proactive self‑starter.
  • Customer‑focused, insight‑driven, and agile in approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive team culture.
