Job description

Overview

Make a real impact in your community every day

The team at the Whakatane District Council has a vacancy for a full time permanent Water and Wastewater Treatment Technician.

About this role

You'll play an integral role in making sure we continue to provide high-quality water and wastewater services that meet the needs of our communities.

We're a small team of technical experts who support the continuous operation and maintenance of water supply, storage and treatment across our District, ensuring our water and wastewater treatment is effective and compliant with all standards and regulations.

Keeping the water flowing through the taps means that you'll also join the roster to complete routine weekend work and provide after-hours callouts when required.

This role is considered both health and safety sensitive so the successful candidate will be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment health and drug test.

About you

Knowledge of process control, field and laboratory analytical instrumentation, calibration and maintenance of continuous reading analysers and familiarity with monitoring and sampling of water and wastewater would also be great.

This is an active role, so you'll need a good level of fitness and a strong commitment to health and safety.
