About the role Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

Come and join our friendly and dynamic Older person’s residential service teamin Sunny Taranaki! We are looking for people who are passionate aboutsupporting others to achieve their goals.

You will be reporting to the TeamCoach and will work with a friendly and culturally diverse team of SupportWorkers; all with a common purpose to support people experiencing mentalillness in our Barriball Street Team.

This is a full-time position working 7am 3 : 30pm, Sunday Thursday, basedin New Plymouth.

Responsibilities include :

  • Budgeting and independent daily living skills
  • Attending appointments and advocating for people.
  • Work in a recovery-focused way
  • Cleaning, cooking, or helping with everyday household tasks in preparation for transition to independent living in the community.
  • Personal improvement goals

You Mōu

  • NZ full driver’s licence
  • Current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one
  • Applicants must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent.
  • Support Worker experience or similar
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the primary care sector
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
