About the role

Contribute to the academic and international success of Waikato Management School by managing key academic processes that underpin our teaching, learning, accreditation and research quality. As an Academic Specialist in the Programmes and Accreditation Unit, you’ll provide expert advice, operational leadership, and process support across curriculum development, programme quality, and accreditation systems.

From managing qualification completions and course changes, to supporting assurance of learning and coordinating site visits, this role plays a vital part in maintaining the School’s reputation for academic and administrative excellence.

Salary will be in the range of $85,279 to $97,532 per year, based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week), based on our Hillcrest Campus.

You are a detail-focused professional who thrives on process accuracy, stakeholder engagement, and system improvements. Whether supporting programme reviews or preparing data for accreditation reports, your ability to work autonomously and collaboratively makes you a go-to resource for academic staff and leadership teams.

To succeed in this role, you will bring :

  • A bachelor’s qualification or equivalent professional experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital tools like Power BI and Power Automate
  • Confidence working with data, documentation and deadlines
  • Experience in academic quality assurance, committee operations, or programme coordination
  • Initiative in improving systems and processes
  • An understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi is preferred
