Fixed term until Dec 2026, Proportional (0.8 FTE)

  • Teach the NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing with a focus on learner success and empowerment
  • Apply kaupapa Māori principles and demonstrate commitment to Tiriti o Waitangi in teaching practice

Teach Health & Wellbeing L4, empowering learners through bicultural, learner-focused education grounded in social justice and kaupapa Māori.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to Health & Wellbeing education. The role is underpinned by principles of social justice, bicultural practice and empowering others to promote personal and social change. The focus of this role is teaching on the NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing Level 4.

This role will suit somene who has experience working in the wider Health & Wellbeing sector, who is committed to changing lives through opportunities brought about by education. Prior teaching experience is desirable, although not essential. A learner focused approach to supporting students to achieve desired aspirations and outcomes is essential. You will demonstrate a practical commitment to Tiriti o Waitangi and building knowledge of te ao Māori and be confident in applying kaupapa Māori principles and matauranga Māori to learning and development in the programme.

  • Minimum qualification a Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Knowledge and understanding of the wider health &
  • Current industry / discipline knowledge
  • Vision, innovation and a commitment to facilitating own and others' learning.
  • Capable of supporting students to achieve their learning outcomes.
  • The ability to develop and implement flexible teaching and learning methods, including the use of learning technologies
  • Digital literacy including - competence using a computer (including Microsoft office products)
  • Effective communication with a diverse range of others, at all levels within and outside the organisation
  • Works collaboratively and co-operatively, contributes to teams.
  • Recognises diversity positively (cultural, socioeconomic, age, ability)
  • Sound professional judgment and integrity
  • Friendly and approachable manner
