Clinical Nurse Manager Admission Discharge Transition Unit / Integrated Operations Centre Flow, New Plymouth Hospital, Fulltime (Maternity leave cover - fixed term)

This leadership position supports patient flow throughout the hospital by maintaining capacity and supporting the team with the Admission, Discharge and Transition Unit (ADTU) as well as working closely with the larger IOC team.

The ADTU is trialling new services to provide and enhance patient care, so this role is an amazing opportunity to influence nursing care and the patient journey.

About the Role

Fixed term Clinical Nurse Manager Integrated Operations Centre

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager for our Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) to lead a highly skilled team that support the whole Taranaki District.

This is a great opportunity for a Registered Nurses seeking a leadership role.

The successful candidate / s will be well supported with a comprehensive orientation and induction programme.

Reporting to you will be the ADTU team, VRM, PAR and transfer nurses.

You will work in partnership with the Duty Nurse Manager to oversee early interhospital transfers and patient movement from the ED.

This position has strong working relationships with the whole organisation, senior nursing team, medical staff, Service and Operational Managers and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the provision of high-quality care.

The successful applicant will be someone with :

• Post Graduate Certificate, ideally working towards Post Graduate Diploma or Masters
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills
• Be able to work in an interdisciplinary team and be able to navigate challenging situations.
• Advanced experience in wider range of nursing areas with proven leadership experience and ability
• Experience in change and financial management is desirable, as well as a working knowledge of quality improvement.Please click here to view the position description

About the Team / Service / Location

The IOC has oversight and responsibility for patient flow, leading a number of responses clinical and non-clinical, planning and forecasting occupancy and VRM.

We work in partnership with all other hospital services.

We have a large team of people that work within the IOC.
