We are seeking Scale A teachers to start at the beginning of term 1, 2026.
These are fixed-term positions (roll growth). There is a possibility of it rolling over to 2027 but this will be confirmed later in 2026.
The successful applicants will be enthusiastic, energetic NZ-registered teachers who have the ability to work collaboratively and maximise opportunities in a school that seeks to promote the growth of its students and teachers. This position will be based in either a Y7 or Y8 classroom. An understanding of teaching Y7 and Y8 students is desirable but beginning teachers are also welcome to apply.
Currently, our school is focused on Russell Bishop's Teaching to the North-East and Sir Mason Durie's, Te Whare Tapa Whā pedagogies. We are continuing to grow our cultural capabilities and looking for new and innovative ways to help support our tamariki and whānau. We are a school that is committed to delivering the new, new refreshed curriculum and have high expectations for teaching and learning.
HNI is currently part of an active and unified Kāhui Ako and this inter‑school relationship will continue beyond 2025.
