About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their team in Invercargill Central Southland. This is a full‑time position where you will be responsible for providing accurate and competitive estimates for electrical projects, adding to the profitability and success of the company.

What you'll be doing

  • Reviewing project specifications, drawings, and requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates for industrial electrical projects.
  • Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing information.
  • Accurately calculating material, labour, and overhead costs for electrical projects.
  • Preparing and submitting formal proposals and tenders within specified deadlines.
  • Negotiating project terms and conditions with clients.
  • Monitoring project costs and identifying potential risks or opportunities for savings.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure and automation control systems, materials, and installation processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and communicate effectively with clients.
  • Proven track record of submitting successful tenders and maintaining project profitability.
  • Familiarity with industry‑standard estimating software and tools.
