  • Nurse Educator
  • based in Wellington you will be a key leader in supporting continuing professional development and the delivery of evidenced based nursing practice.

This permanent, part-time role (0.8FTE) enables you to design, implement, evaluate, and continually improve education programmes that prepare nurses to meet the diverse and changing health needs of New Zealand's population.You will work closely with senior nurses and multidisciplinary teams to foster a professional nursing environment that supports cultural safety, whanau-centred care, and upholds Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

  • About you
  • You are a professional and inspiring nurse leader, with the skills and experience to inspire, motivate and develop others.
  • You'll be able to work collaboratively across the sector and organisational boundaries to influence the nursing contribution to better outcomes for our whanau and communities.

    In this role you will be able work with senior nurses to assess education and workforce needs and identify strategies to implement and evaluate identified education programmes.

    You'll be able to support the learning need of Public Health Nurses working across the system, for example, Pacific and Maori Nursing Groups.

    You will be an experienced Senior Registered Nurse with proven expert nursing knowledge and skills to provide support to lead a team.

  • Registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Are an experienced Nurse Educator in Aotearoa
  • Hold a relevant post-graduate qualification (or working towards completion in agreed timeframes)
  • Demonstrated understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ability to apply its principles in nursing education, workforce development, and service design
  • Minimum 3+ years working either within the clinical area or relevant nursing role
  • An excellent communicator, with proven effective leadership experience, skills and expertise with a high level of interpersonal skills
  • A current PDRP of Senior or Expert Level or working towards within agreed timeframes
  • Experience and credibility with the health care team as a professional resource in speciality / practice area
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver evidence-based nursing education and articulate nursing best practice to multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge of :
  • Current issues for nursing and health in NZ and international context + Current nursing professional standards and codes + Principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and biculturalism
  • Excellent emotional intelligence to thrive in complex environments
  • A current full New Zealand drivers license
  • Proficient computer literacy including Microsoft packagesYou will champion the nursing profession by supporting workforce development, PDRP / Huarahi Whakatu / Quality Leadership Programme, and fostering a positive, innovative learning culture
