Senior Financial Accountant

Join our dynamic team as a Senior Financial Accountant and play a key role in driving the success of our AJ Park business.

Sitting within the centralised IPH Limited Finance Shared Services team, you'll work closely with the Finance Manager to deliver high-quality financial services and help achieve core operational and strategic goals.This is a permanent position based in either Auckland or Wellington, and a great opportunity for a fully qualified accountant (ideally with experience in a large professional services firm) who's ready to step up into a senior role, or for an established Senior Financial Accountant seeking a fresh challenge.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare month-end close including journals and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring variances are addressed monthly.Prepare and review accurate, timely monthly management reports.Prepare and file GST, RWT, and FBT returns.Prepare income tax calculations.Lead preparation of annual financial statements and assist with statutory reporting for the listed entity.Manage external audit process, providing required information to meet reporting obligations on time.Prepare fortnightly and monthly payroll journals and reconciliations.Respond to Statistics NZ surveys.Assist with business queries and billing data requests.Support WIP management, including monitoring aged WIP, write-offs, and adjustments.Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.Prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure business liquidity.Assist with transformation projects aligning finance controls and processes.Provide mentorship and guidance to finance team members, including Graduate Accounts Assistant.Assist in managing national finance operations, including accounts payable, credit cards, and receivables / credit control.Ensure adherence to IPH Group policies and procedures.Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to communicate progress towards objectives.Assist in developing and implementing process improvements.Undertake ad hoc projects and other duties as directed.About YouFully qualified CPA or CA accountant with a degree in accounting and at least 3 years' post-qualification experience; professional services background preferred.Broad expertise in accounting principles, including financial / performance reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis.Advanced Excel skills with experience in large ERP systems; knowledge of Inprotech and / or Microsoft D365 advantageous.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage across all organisational levels.Excellent time management and prioritisation abilities.Proven commitment to delivering high-quality internal and external client service.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.Collaborative team player, adaptable to change and experienced in transformation projects.About UsIPH Limited is the holding company for intellectual property ("IP") and associated companies offering a wide range of IP services and products.
