Overview

The Developer (Domain) is responsible for the development and support of high-quality software solutions that deliver meaningful business value. Operating at a delivery level, the role focuses on building, maintaining, and enhancing applications in alignment with organisational standards and industry best practices. Developers collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements, develop new features, and ensure the reliability and performance of existing systems. Working as part of a cross-functional digital operations team, the Developer plays a key role in delivering timely, effective, and maintainable software solutions that meet evolving business needs.

Team and Location

The Developer (Domain) reports into a Manager Integration Development within the Digital Applications & Products function. This function focuses on improving alignment and reducing duplication across development, integration, and product teams, with a strong emphasis on delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions. Teams are structured around the programmes, projects, and products they support, enabling consistent delivery practices and standardised outcomes across the organisation. Organised into service portfolios and domains, this structure ensures software development is aligned with strategic business objectives while supporting continuous improvement and national standardisation efforts.

About you

You'll bring a strong foundation in software development and technical support, with a focus on delivering high-quality, maintainable solutions that meet business needs. With experience supporting end-users and IT environments, you understand the importance of operational reliability alongside effective development practices. You are comfortable working across the software development lifecycle, contributing to both new feature development and the ongoing enhancement of existing systems. Your work reflects a commitment to best practices, code quality, and collaboration with stakeholders to deliver software that aligns with organisational standards and goals. You will also have the following skills and experience to support your success in the role :

  • 3–5 years of experience providing day-to-day technical support for end-users and / or IT environments.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the development and support of high-quality software solutions.
  • Proven ability to deliver effective software solutions while maintaining and enhancing existing systems.
  • Demonstrated capability in developing software that delivers business value and adheres to organisational standards and best practices.
