About the role
Burwood Hospital is the major centre for specialist Older Persons Health services.
These services are Assessment Treatment & Rehabilitation.
There are six assessment treatment and rehabilitation wards for patients over 65 years old.
We are looking for Registered Nurses to join our team in the Older Persons Health Service Ward D1 at Burwood Hospital.
Ward D1 is a 20 bed orthopaedic rehabilitation ward for those over 65 years old and other complex multi trauma patients.
Your ability to work well under pressure within a multidisciplinary team alongside your excellent communication skills and flexibility to work rotating, rostered shifts is imperative to your success in these roles.

Professional development is supported, and you will have opportunities to attend training.
You'll have a strong rehabilitation focus, a desire to learn and an understanding of the social needs and backgrounds of patients and their families / Whanau.
The unit offers social rostering, however, flexibility is still required as you will be expected to be available for all shifts.
Professional development is encouraged on the unit and is supported by our Charge Nurse Managers.
A good sense of humour, the ability to develop a rapport with patients and colleagues, and exceptional team work will go a long way in this environment and ensure you assist patients overcome multi-faceted challenges.
Skills and experience
You will be an experienced Registered Nurse with a current NZ practicing certificate
You will be a confident practitioner with exceptional patient assessment skills
Enthusiastic, motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage a wide variety of people, is paramount in this role
Your strong patient advocacy alongside clear communication style and the aspiration to contribute to the health care of the elderly will see you succeed in this role
You will exhibit compassion, good communication and organisational skills as well as sound assessment skills
