Job Title

HR Project Officer

Purpose of the Role

To support the successful integration of the Christchurch sites (Kiwi & CHC) by coordinating HR processes, documentation, and system updates.

Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination

Provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support for the Christchurch site merger.

  • Maintain project documentation, timelines, and status updates.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for leadership.
  • HR Process Support
  • Coordinate and process job description updates and contract variations.

  • Ensure all employee changes are actioned across required systems (Pay Global, Dayforce, Time & Attendance) and work closely with Payroll Team.
  • Track and monitor progress of people-related changes (e.g., role moves, reporting line changes).
  • Systems & Data
  • Input and maintain accurate HR / payroll data during transition.

  • Work with Payroll to ensure employee records are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Support and assist with the migration and testing of processes from Pay Global to Dayforce.
  • Communication & Engagement Support
  • Assist in preparing communication materials for staff (FAQs, noticeboards, updates).

  • Act as a point of contact for employee queries and escalate issues to the HR Business Partner as needed.
  • Coordinate site-level HR activities (training, town halls, briefings).
  • Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure HR project activities are compliant with NZ employment law and internal policies.

  • Support audits by maintaining proper records of employee changes.
  • Monitor compliance training and reporting requirements during transition.
  • Key Relationships

  • Reports to : HR Business Partner – NZ
  • Works closely with : Payroll team, Site Managers, HR Director, Project Manager / Team
  • External : Consultants / Wider MCC HR Team
  • Skills & Experience Required

  • 3-5 years in HR experience.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with HRIS / Payroll systems (Pay Global, will be advantageous).
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider HR team.
