About the Role… This is a strategic, hands-on role where you’ll hit the ground running, bringing fresh perspectives, data-driven insights, and leadership to a collaborative team. With a future-focused mindset, this role also has the potential to grow into a succession opportunity within the broader commercial team.

What You’ll Do…

  • Drive Sales Through Smart Allocation – Oversee and optimise store inventory allocation to maximise sales, profit, and customer availability, while collaborating with the wider SRG team and travelling to Australia when required.
  • Shape Winning Store Assortments – Engage with stakeholders to tailor store assortments effectively across the 100 stores across NZ & AU, ensuring alignment with category strategies and cross-team collaboration across SRG.
  • Keep Supply Flowing Smoothly – Manage period inventory, supply planning, and category initiatives to support operational efficiency, with exposure to SRG colleagues in Australia.
  • Turn Data Into Decisions – Translate data into meaningful insights, driving informed decision-making and actionable strategies in collaboration with SRG partners.
  • Lead & Inspire Your Team – Mentor, develop, and nurture the allocation team, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Bring Fresh Thinking to the Table – Apply a new perspective to processes and practices, drawing from planning, category, or inventory experience, and connecting with the wider SRG network across markets.

About You…

  • Retail Experience : 3–5 years in a retail environment, understanding the dynamics of store operations and customer needs.
  • Inventory & Merchandise Expertise : Mid-level experience in inventory, merchandise, or commercial management, with hands-on stock allocation.
  • Data-Driven Decision Maker : Strong data skills with the ability to turn metrics into actionable business insights.
  • Team Leadership : Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a high-performing team culture.
  • Communication & Influence : Exceptional skills to engage stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and drive alignment.
  • Change & Innovation : Demonstrated experience implementing new processes, driving change, and introducing innovative ideas.
