Visy Board in Hamilton specialise in manufacturing innovative corrugated cardboard packaging solutions using highly automated production machinery. Since opening in May 2018, we have been maximising our manufacturing capabilities to support and distribute high volumes of quality packaging solutions to all big brands across New Zealand.

The opportunity

We are currently recruiting an Industrial Electrician to join our team at Visy Board, Hamilton. This is a full-time permanent role, working on a weekly rotating shift. It is a diverse and varied role where you will be working closely with the production operation teams across the site. Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be member of the maintenance team, leading initiatives in reducing plant downtime by conducting preventative maintenance activities, immediate breakdown repairs, general electrical fault-finding, continuous improvement, and work on projects as required. You will use our maintenance software systems to record and plan maintenance activities, along with maintaining awareness and commitment to employment and legislative responsibilities, in relation to safety, quality and the environment.

Responsibilities

Lead initiatives in reducing plant downtime by conducting preventative maintenance activities, immediate breakdown repairs, general electrical fault-finding, continuous improvement, and project work as required.
Record and plan maintenance activities using maintenance software systems.
Maintain awareness and commitment to safety, quality and the environment in relation to employment and legislative responsibilities.

What you will bring

Full NZ Electrical Trade License and an Electrical trade qualification.

Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience from a high-volume manufacturing environment or similar industry.

Electrical and Electronics fault-finding (with Printed Circuit Boards, PLCs and Motor Controls) experience; ability to read electrical schematics; knowledge of AS / NZS 3000.

Experience within AS-Interface and automation systems is highly desirable.

Self-motivated, proactive, and a team player with proficient computer, written and verbal communication skills.
