OverviewData Centre Technician 24 / 7 shift worker – Datacom.
The role is based at our Auckland, Orbit Drive Data Centre Office and involves a rotating shift pattern with night and day shift work.
The 24x7 Data Centre Technician performs a large number of remote hands and first level support tasks including installation of customer equipment, cables and cabling infrastructure.
We will train you to undertake scheduled and ad hoc tasks set out by the 24x7 Operations Manager and work alongside a team of site leads and operators to provide the highest standards in operational deliverables.What You'll DoComplete and contribute to the Data Centre training programmeSupport the Data Centre Team with Batch Services : Operating batch processes, monitoring alerts and escalating issuesProvide first level support and hands and eyes services to our Data Centre customersEnsure health and safety requirements are adhered toProvide consistent and excellent management of data centre assetsDelivery of customer facing activities and fostering customer relationshipsInstallation and / or management of Data Centre infrastructure including power systems, IT and telecommunications equipment, cabling and server racksEnsure adherence to (and documentation of) existing and new standards relating to customer changeCompletion of all operational tasks assigned to you in a timely manner and communication of statusData Centre incident managementEnsuring all Datacom security objectives are strictly adhered toBeing part of a culture of continuous improvement, seeking out efficiencies, service improvements, and new ways of workingWhat You'll BringFlexibility to work a rotating shift pattern (day and night shift)Strong communication and interpersonal skillsConfidence to work alone and in a small teamAble to troubleshoot customer and technical issuesAble to remain calm under pressureComfortable to work at heights (up to 4m)Able to complete repeatable processes in a timely and accurate mannerWorking knowledge of Microsoft application suitePrevious IT experience is preferred but not required for this roleWhy Join UsDatacom is one of Australia and New Zealand's largest suppliers of Information Technology professional services.
