OverviewWe're on the lookout for Quality Technologists who are passionate about food safety and quality and ready to make a hands-on impact in our dynamic dairy production environment.
In this role, you'll collaborate closely with our production teams and quality professionals to uphold and enhance our rigorous standards across our plant.
You'll play a critical role in ensuring compliance with food safety protocols, internal policies, and global regulatory frameworks.Shift patterns2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off (12.5 hour shifts)4 days, 3 days off (10 hour shifts)Key responsibilitiesWorking closely with production teams to ensure hygiene, sanitation, and allergen control protocols are followedPerforming environmental monitoring (swabbing, water testing, pest control)Supporting implementation of HACCP, GMP, and regulatory certification programs (FDA, FSSC22000)Conducting plant hygiene and GMP walks and participating in DDS (Daily Direction Setting)Reviewing incidents and supporting a culture of continuous improvementLeading or assisting with Quality Event (QE) investigationsConducting routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process, and finished goodsReviewing and signing off on production recordsIdentifying and implementing quality system improvementsParticipating in internal and external auditsManaging non-conforming product processesSupporting traceability systems, mock recalls, and customer complaint investigationsCollecting and analysing quality performance dataProviding training to quality and production staffSkills and ExperienceYou're someone who brings a strong quality mindset, a hands-on approach, and a collaborative spirit.
You have a passion for food safety and an ability to see both the big picture and the fine details that make a difference in a high-compliance environment.The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes : 2+ years of progressive quality assurance experience, ideally in infant formula or dairy manufacturingBachelor's degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Microbiology, or a related fieldStrong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety systemsProven track record in managing regulatory audits and third-party certifications (e.g., FSSC22000)Hands-on experience in quality, regulatory, or compliance rolesExcellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional teamPreferred : Certification in HACCP, FSSC22000, or PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual)About Us – The Synlait SpiritSynlait is more than a global leader in milk nutrition – we\'re a purpose-led team that's Doing Milk Differently For A Healthier World.
