About the Role

We’re looking for a dynamic and adaptable Executive Assistant to support two senior leaders at MBIE — our Chief Financial Officer and General Manager Corporate Shared Services. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of MBIE’s corporate functions, providing high-level support in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Whether you’re an experienced PA / EA or an up-and-coming professional ready to take the next step, we’re looking for someone who’s proactive, thinks ahead, and thrives on keeping things running smoothly.

In this role, you will :

  • Manage diaries, schedules, and priorities across two senior leaders
  • Coordinate meetings and communications with discretion and professionalism
  • Anticipate needs and take initiative to solve problems before they arise
  • Build strong relationships across MBIE and with external stakeholders
  • You’ll be trusted to handle confidential matters, juggle competing priorities, and bring a calm, solutions-focused approach to your work.

    Skills and Experience Required

    We’re seeking someone who :

  • Is confident, agile, and highly organised.
  • Has strong judgement and a proactive mindset.
  • Communicates clearly and builds effective relationships.
  • Can manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to change.
  • Brings experience in executive support or is ready to grow into the role.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and a strong sense of initiative are essential. You don’t need 20+ years of experience — we’re open to someone who’s eager to learn and ready to get stuck in.
  • Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
