Scale A Y5‑6 Teacher – Fixed Term Full Time

Full‑time, fixed‑term position covering a special project. Start date 28 January 2026 – End date 17 December 2026. Position is located at Tuia Burnside Primary School, 96 Memorial Avenue, Ilam, Christchurch.

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in English, mathematics, science, technology, social sciences, learning languages, and Te Reo Māori.
Apply holistic teaching practices to support tamariki academically, socially and emotionally.
Co‑operate with colleagues in a collaborative learning environment and participate in professional learning communities.
Develop and maintain relationships with whānau, external support agencies and community partners.
Embrace the cultural diversity of the kura whānau and promote inclusive practices.

Qualifications

Certificated teacher in primary or intermediate setting.

Strengths in BSLA, mathematics, Te Reo Māori, PB4L and English language learners.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a collaborative culture.

Evidence of proactive, flexible teaching approach and a sense of humour.
