About the Role
The Sterile Science Technician Trainee is responsible for developing competence in line with the practical training program for reprocessing of reusable medical devices including decontamination, cleaning, sterilisation, inspection, packaging and storage in line with AS / NZS
A Sterile Science Technician Trainee has a focus on developing technical capability with support from more experienced technicians.
The NZ Sterilising Technology certificate level four must be completed within two years of employment; the practical training is initiated on entry to the service and completed at approximately six months.
About the Service
The Sterile Services Unit at MidCentral is a specialist service for the reprocessing of Reusable Medical Devices (RMD's) for operating theatres and all hospital wards and clinics.
The service promotes high-quality service delivery, ensuring the required equipment is available at the required time to promote the best service user outcomes.
All processes adhere to the principles of the standard AS / NZS
