Ships Able Seaman (AB) / Maintenance Hand (IR)

BunkerShipz Limited is the operator of theSeaFuels bunker tanker Awanuia, operating between Auckland port and the Marsden Point Oil Refinery with Auckland as home port.

We currently have a vacancy for a permanent part time Able Seaman (AB) for regular upkeep and maintenance and to cover for all periods when team members are on annual leave and for the extra man duties when the vessel sails to Marsden Point.

We are seeking applications from individuals who have the experience, qualifications (recognised in NZ by MNZ) and skills necessary for this role.

Our ideal candidate will be highly motivated and technically competent in the following areas :

Technical Proficiency - Can demonstrate technical competence as an AB on Oil Tankers, including holding a minimum Class Two (Basic Oil tanker) Tanker Endorsement, and proven maintenance abilities.

Customer Service Focus - has a track record of giving high priority to customer satisfaction and delivering results.

Team Work - has proven abilities at working collaboratively with others within and across departments towards a common objective.

Legal Compliance - must be able to demonstrate a record of proactive compliance with Maritime rules, Health and Safety legislation, Transport statutes and Environmental legislation.

To succeed in this role you will need a proven record of teamwork, a positive attitude, and a willingness to be flexible when working closely with others.
