The New Zealand Police Intelligence function has a unique role to play in providing insight and foresight to enhance and support decision making capability at all levels of Police.

If you are looking to take on a challenging and rewarding role at the leading edge of Police Intelligence, developing, and enabling Police Intelligence practitioners to deliver our business, while enhancing your own knowledge, skills and experience, then this role is for you.

As an Intelligence Training Advisor, you will contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of Intelligence Training to enable NZP Intelligence Practitioners to deliver our business.

You will champion continuous improvement, ensuring an evidence-based approach to the design and delivery of a learner-centric and innovative (blended), training programme.

We are looking for people leaders who can work with the wider Intelligence Training team, business owners and subject matter experts, who are committed and focused on developing capable, connected Intelligence Practitioners equipped with the skills and knowledge to enhance operational efficiency and increase decision making capability.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Development and delivery of Intelligence training,
  • Leading the Commissioners Priorities – supporting the frontline, focus on core policing, leadership, and fiscal responsibility, with an intelligence perspective,

  • Ability to recognise and manage risk in a dynamic environment.

  • Current CPK at the rank of the vacancy you are applying for (Constabulary only).
  • For both Constabulary & Police Employees :
  • Agree to enrol in a leadership programme at the advertised level, at a future date or
  • Have qualified under CEP or a previous Career Progression Framework at the level you are applying for.
  • Required to hold or obtain within 6 months of appointment an education related qualification.
  • The certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching can be obtained within this timeframe, upon appointment through the RNZPC.

    This role is Individual Contributor / Emerging Leader level.

    Security Clearance :

    To be eligible for this role, you may be asked to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET national security clearance.

    The minimum criteria for this level of national security clearance is :

    NZ Citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or :

  • A Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or
  • A citizen of or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years : Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, or United States of America, and has a background that can be verified by the NZSIS.

    Utu a-tau | Salary

    This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $102,808 and $108,894 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
