We are looking for an energetic and motivated Team Leader for our Residential Houses in Hamilton. You will lead a team in supporting our people to live as independently as possible while also providing a safe environment where they can develop confidence, build friendships, and interact within the community.

Please note this role is currently a 1-year fixed-term contract.

There will be a mixture of morning, afternoon, and evening shifts across the week, so flexibility to support your team across various shifts is essential.

What does the role involve? | He aha te mahi a te mahi

A Team Leader assists people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, as well as leading and motivating their team. Your day may involve a range of responsibilities, including :

  • Activities at home and in the community that are meaningful and purposeful to the people, including maximizing independence and involving Whānau.
  • Household duties such as meal preparation, daily care routines, and personal cares.
  • Working with a team to implement personal support plans consistently, fostering effective teamwork and communication.
  • Providing a warm and nurturing environment that is inclusive of ideas and feedback, supporting each person towards their personal goals.

  • Relevant caregiving experience, including personal cares.
  • Leadership experience or a genuine desire to develop leadership skills.
  • The ability to adapt your leadership approach to individual learning styles.
  • A warm, calm, and friendly personality with a passion for supporting positive outcomes.
  • A full NZ Driver License and the ability to transport passengers safely in our disability vans.
